Summer and winter temperature analyses over the area of Zagreb
Results obtained by empirical analysis are shown. Focus is on summer and winter season when temperature extremes occur so people are more exposed to heat/cold stress. Data used in this study are meteorological measurements from 4 stations: Grič, Maksimir, Pleso and Puntijarka. Besides difference in altitude, meteorological parameters at selected stations are also affected by different surrounding environment. Mean maximum and minimum temperatures are analysed, as well as some cold and warm temperature indices. Also, occurrence and changes in extreme temperatures are investigated and generalized extreme value (GEV) distribution is applied. Human thermal sensation described by physiologically equivalent temperature (PET) is estimated using RayMan model.
