Developmental Determinants of Preschool and School Aged Children
Understanding children's developmental features is the precondition for an adequate influence on preschool and early school-aged children’s development and it has to be shown by all those participating in the process, from scientists to educators and teachers. In this process, the positive stimuli have to be adequately designed and based on the specificities of developmental phases aiming at the optimal development for each single child. On this path preventive actions could be taken, but the already manifested developmental difficulties can be also influenced upon. Namely, children’s growth and development is under the influence of different factors (endogenous and exogenous) and they can stimulate or prevent the children’s proper growth and development. This monograph has been issued in that regard. On the one hand, it deals with prevention, i.e. the impediment of children’s irregular development in the widest sense, while on the other it considers treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation of preschool and school-aged children who already manifest a form of irregular development. Therefore, the monograph has been divided into two parts: the first part regards the field of kinesiological sciences ; the second part regards the field of education and rehabilitation sciences. The monograph is the result of deliberation about preschool and school-aged children’s development as part of the aforementioned scientific fields and its aim is to achieve development in this area.
