Investigation of influence of human hepotoietin on hepatocyte proliferation
From serum of liver disease patients (n=29) hepatopoietin extract was isolated with which the hepatocyte primary cultuf re was inocculated. Proliferative activity was followed by incorporation of 3H-thymidine in DNA hepatocyte. The mean of proliferative activity measured in relation to control was 149% (range 96-217%). The results of flow cytometry showed significantly higher content of DNA in phase S of cell cycle in relation to control. The mean values of DNA contents in cell phasis of inocculated hepatocytes were: %Go/G1=73+2.93, %S=20.8+4.96 i %G2+M=5.07, while the values in control were: %Go/G1=89.5+3.5, %S=10.5+2.8 i %G2+M=1.47+0.36.
