Chronology of the late Tumulus culture and early Urnfield culture on the south of the Carpthian Basin
In the northern and the eastern part of Croatia in prehistory was often a contact zone between various cultural phenomena. A similar situation occurs at the end of the Middle Bronze Age and in the beginning of the Late Bronze Age. At that time this area is populated by Belegiš Culture, Virovitica group and the Barice-Gređani Group. This paper is going to explore and clarify the relationship between these groups in the aforementioned area. Recent archaeological research has significantly improved the knowledge of the chronological and spatial relationships of these groups. Considerable number of sites is investigated in a large scale, and some of them include the investigated settlement and cemetery. Stratigraphic relations recorded in research and a series of radiocarbon dates allow us to more clarify chronological relations of all these groups.
