Media communication in convergent geo-strategic surroundings
The paper analyzes the historical and communicational genesis of media communication in the convergent media geostrategic regional environment of the countries of former Yugoslavia. Exploratory analysis is conducted in order to establish a new geostrategic developmental, safety and communicational holistic paradigm of convergent media communication at all levels of communicating: global, regional, national, local and glocal. Analogical-contrastive communication method is used for analysis of media communication in the regional countries about geostrategic cultural and natural resources for development (ore, oil, water, sea, rivers, roads, technology). Research results show that convergent media communication is affecting on (ab)normal developmental, political, cultural, scientific, economic, technological, military, security and crisis communication in geostrategic multicultural regional environment. Virtual convergent media communication (virtual security, and virtual warfare: viruses, worms, malicious programs ( "malware"), illegal media instructions, media identity theft, public and private data, computer crime, "spam") became a serious geostrategic threat to the countries in the region. Media communication and Internet, in this geostrategic environment, are becoming a global media means for the constructive (stable economy, regional security) and deconstructive actions (destruction, terrorism). New geostrategic development strategies in the region are increasingly determined by the new information and communication processes, strong development of modern information and communication technology (ICT) and the processes of digitalization of the European media (2006-2012), which began in the geostrategic process of connecting the countries of the region into European integration processes (EU). In the conclusion, the author points to the opened technological, social, political and communicational issues in the countries of the region in terms of preserving cultural and media identity of small nations and small countries in the world of globalization and europeanization of media communication in the convergent geostrategic environment.
