Streptomyces metabolites – an unlimited source of useful bioactive products
GDS(L) lipases belong to triacylglycerol hydrolases that degrade fats and oils. Genes coding for GDS(L) lipases are found in fungi, plants, animals and most recently in bacteria. However, these enzymes are still poorly biochemically and structurally characterized. One of the first and still the best biochemically characterized GDS(L) lipase is an extracellular lipase from Streptomyces rimosus R6 (SrL, Q93MW7). In this poster we present data on biochemical and structural specificities of three GDS(L) lipases from Streptomyces species: GDS(L) lipase from Streptomyces rimosus (Q93MW7) - SrL, and GDS(L) lipases from Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2): ScL1 (SCO1725, Q9S2A5) and ScL2 (SCO7513, Q93J06).
