Europeanization as a Remedy for Muddled Governance in South-Eastern Europe

The author analyzes common governance framework of SEE countries: the process of Europeanization, modernisation policy, search for national identities, regional cooperation and the learning process. Three groups of main governance problems are identified (orientation, implementation and motivation) and some examples of government processes aimed at healing them are presented. The main features of governance in SEE are described. Governance in SEE is recognized as muddled with lot of 'governance holes' (situations in which there is no idea how to resolve government crisis). Europeanization as a possible remedy for this situation is discussed.
